I'd like to start off by saying thank you to the club's board members who have stepped down this year for their previous time and commitment to the CRCC family. I would also like to welcome the new board members who stepped up, possibly out of their comfort zone to fill the vacant positions and of course thanks go out to the returning board members as well. This club is thriving due to the people involved, and the time and commitment it's members put into the events and fund raising. The membership count continues to grow every year and we get to meet new car enthusiasts and some gorgeous Camaros of all years!
Columbia River Camaro Club was started back in 1982 and remains a non-profit organization. Throughout the year we may have some events where funds are collected through raffles and event entry fees, those funds are used right here in the community via charities that the club members vote on. Last year we donated to many charities helping children, families and even animal shelters right here in our local community. We also contributed toys to the Randall’s Children Hospital toy drive where hundreds of toys were donated throughout the year and delivered during the Christmas Season. We also get together for social events as well, even though we are brought together by our cars it's the drivers and family members that keep this club fun and social events are a big part of that. When speaking with potential new members these are the things I like to bring up, the CRCC is so much more than just cruise-ins and car shows. Some of the other events we have throughout the year include, go cart racing, bowling, bunco night, Bar-B-Qs and of course car shows and some awesome car run events through the beautiful Pacific NW. This club includes all year Camaros and configurations from 1967 though the new 2016 model or even if you are just an enthusiast who doesn't own a Camaro yet you are still welcome and invited to see what we are all about. We meet the first Tuesday of every month at the Delta Park Elmer's and there is no minimum attendance required, we like to think we are a no pressure group at least until we get to know you ;)
With 2016 comes the next generation Camaro, the 6th Gens have started selling from dealerships now and we hope to have some become part of our club. Some say they look similar to the 5th Gen but with slight body modifications have come with reduced weight, better performance and all new engine choices including the LT1 V8 with 455HP. Next year marks the Camaro's 50th year anniversary and I am excited to see what they roll out for the special editions.
If you have any questions please contact us through the site, I try to respond right away but may take a day or two to get back. As always, I look forward to meeting new people, places and cars!
